March is a time we await the first signs of spring. Here in South Texas, the wildflowers are my favorite sight! If you get a chance take a trip to the Wild Seed Farm along Route 290, near Fredericksburg. Check with the Farm to determine “peak viewing “dates. Free entry to view their gardens with bluebonnets, poppies and other varieties or just take a drive and see the flowers up and down the highways.
Also, for those that love to celebrate St. Patrick- Be sure to take a visit to the San Antonio Riverwalk during that weekend. There are many activities, bar events and folks walking around in costumes. Take a barge tour on the green dyed River renamed the River Shannon!
I would like to Thank our Parliamentarian, Ali and her Bylaw and Policy Review Committee (Luz, Sue Ellen, Molly, Margaret and Lynnda). They conducted the required, every other year review. The changes were presented and approved by the Board at the February meeting. Please find the proposed Bylaw changes on page 11 in this newsletter. There will be a vote by the members at large at our March Luncheon.
The Nominating committee has been working hard to finalize the slate of nominees. Communications and Newsletter positions are still open at this writing. Please contact Sue Ellen ASAP to volunteer.
