“Spring has sprung, the grass has ris, I wonder where the flowers is?”
I used to recite this little rhyme growing up. Spring is definitely here and lots of activities come with it.
April 1st, we celebrate Easter. Both a religious and secular celebration!
The Newcomers Fashion Show will feature clothing from Soft Surroundings at our Luncheon, April 5 being held at Maggiano’s Little Italy at the Rim. This will be a great opportunity to see the latest fashions for spring and summer!
Fiesta takes over the city from the 19th- 29th! The floral door wreaths, flower head bands and colorful Fiesta dress make one get in the spirit! There will be a day parade, called the Battle of the Flowers and a nighttime Parade called the Flambeau! There are many neighborhood street parties, notably NIOSA (Night in Old San Antonio) and the Texas Cavalier’s River Parade. Find a full calendar of events at www.fiesta-sa.org. You can do something every day, if you have the stamina.
Our Bylaws were updated and approved by vote at the March luncheon. As a result, the term of the current Board will be extended by one month to allow the Budget and Luncheons to be in sync with the rest of the Board. Therefore, the Slate of Officers will be presented at our May luncheon and the Installation of the Officers will take place at the June luncheon.
