Mobile Loaves and Fishes is a volunteer activity in which we assist with the preparation of food for the homeless. In partnership with the outreach ministry of St. Francis of Assisi Church, we make 125 lunches which are then distributed to our homeless brothers and sisters in need. Generally, we need 10-12 volunteers to make sandwiches and assemble the lunch bags. Lunches are then taken to a drop-off location downtown. It’s a wonderful way to help those in need and enjoy being together with our Newcomers’ friends!
When: 3rd Wednesday (and 5th Wednesday when there is one)
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Location: St. Francis of Assisi Church, 4201 De Zavala, food distribution center (the warehouse building east of the main church buildings)
